So it's time for another TK Berg gig at 'Ruinen' in Oslo. July 7th, party-time!

Apr 11.2007

Kris' gig on the 13th has been moved to the 14th. Same venue and same time, but no chance to do my bad Friday 13th jokes... Damn!

Apr 10.2007

It's time for another live performance by mr TK Berg. The venue is 'Ruinen' situated in St Halvards Plass, Oslo. Show starts at 9 pm on Friday the 13th. Be there, if you dare...

Sept 10.2006

Hi there, long time no see! Since our last update the following has happened: Kris got rejected by LIPA (stupid bastards!), Paddy became a father once again, this time to a little daughter (congrats from everybody:-)), we've been rehearsing and writing (not much...) and Kris has launched his own website! Oh yes, the cheeky little solo-artist has got his own website. Check it out here. So long!

Apr 18.2006

Kris has returned from his audition at LIPA, and according to him it went pretty well. One of the sensors asked him why he was applying, as both his material and performance was of 'professional standard'! Tell us something we don't know! All we can do now is wait... We are also still hard at work getting gigs and trying to create a stir in the world of music. Just keep watching this space and we'll keep you posted. See ya!

Mar 24.2006

So how do you like our new design? Pretty cool, eh? Splendidly created by Elin, who also did the artwork for the 'Welcome to the Show' cover. You rock, girl! As usual, if you have any comments, just drop us a line.

Mar 13.2006

Hi y'all! A bit of news for you. Our man Kris did an audition today at Norges Musikk Høyskole (The Norwegian Music Academy), where he had applied for a spot in the Improvisation/Jazz-course. He wasn't chosen, and maybe that was just as well. I mean, do we really want a trained jazz-guitarist in our midst? Fancy a 2 minute free-form, a-tonal solo in the middle of 'Cheap day return'...

Even more exciting (phew) is the fact that on April 10, Kris will be heading over to Liverpool to audition to be enrolled into LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts). The prospect being a BA in Performing Arts (music). LIPA of course, is famed for being Sir Paul McCartney's 'fame' academy. Now, if the people at LIPA have half an eye for talent, they will jump at the chance and take him on immediately! Sir Paul, we know where you live...

Jan 27.2006

Happy new year to everyone! Here's a little update with some cool pictures from our gig as support for Masterplan, back in september last year. sorry it has taken so long, but he who waits for something good etc... As for the gig itself, it was another solid birds of prey performance albeit in front of a less than packed house. Still, we were happy about the show and those that weren't there only have themselves to thank! Pictures can be seen at the 'Pictures' page.

Rock on!

Sept 30.2005

All right, we rocked at Rjukan last weekend! More about the show and some cool pictures will come soon so watch this space!

Kris gig in Porsgrunn had to be moved to this weekend due to a double booking. Same venue, but the new date is Saturday Oct 1.See ya!

Aug 30.2005

Ok kids, it's more live music and it's this weekend! Kris will strut his stuff at 'Bakgården Pub' in Porsgrunn, so anyone in the area should know exactly where to be this Saturday, Sept 3rd. It will be the full TK Berg experience, 3x45 min sets of great music. Wish I could be there...

And on the b.o.p front things are starting to happen... To be continued...

Aug 22.2005

Howdy y'all! It's been an exciting month, so here's a recap. First of all Kris' gig at Blue Monk in Oslo really showed what a class act he is, if anyone ever had any doubts! Playing both rearranged birds of prey songs and songs created specially for his solo act, he never put a foot wrong and left us all in awe of his amazing talent. Never a dull moment from the rocking of 'The Great Escape' and 'Keep on Loving' to the more thoughtful melancholy of 'Lady Belle'. Pictures on the 'pics' page!

birds of prey is now on web-radio courtesy of SongPlanet.com! So far both Dj's Terry Martin and Mike K have played us so let's all hope it will generate more interest!

The full line-up of the Sept 24 gig is now official. Live at 'Rjukanhuset', Rjukan, Norway will be: Tinn Lizzy (no prizes for guessing what kind of music they play!), birds of prey, Thunderbolt and Masterplan. Doors open at 4 pm. The mountains will crumble!!!

See you soon:-)

July 21.2005

Ok rock'n'rollers, clear your diaries. On Monday August 8 at 10 pm Kris will be performing live at 'Blue Monk' in Oslo! It will be 2x30 min sets of his masterful acoustic skill. You do not want to miss this!

July 15.2005

Just added lyrics for a brand new song, 'Thank You', to the 'lyrics' page.

July 14.2005

birds of prey is going places! 4 songs are now available from mixposure.com. The songs have been given a lot of excellent reviews and we're featured both in the genre spotlight 'Come rock with me', and we have been picked for a spot in this week's 'What's Hot?':0) 'The Bridge' is at the time of writing at no 59 in the mixposure charts. We've always known it, but it's good to have it confirmed; people have impeccable taste! Enjoy your summer, and keep rockin' :-)

July 10.2005

Hi there. Just a short little update with a couple of links you must check out!

As reported earlier, Kris did a little acoustic solo show last Saturday. Not too many people showed up, but what can you expect at midday on a beautiful summer's day with no publicity? The few who were there were treated to half-an hour of our boy's brilliance! Check out two of his songs on this link at mixposure.com

And while we're on the subject of links; have a look at the site of our good buddy Erik Damberg aka 'The Doc', the guy who mastered> 'Welcome to the Show'. He's a talented musician and music teacher in his own right, having recorded and released albums ever since he was a little kid living in Norway. Erik now resides in Sydney, Australia, where he has his own studio, 'The Surgery'. Check out his track, 'Staying Power', at mixposure.com. (All this publicity won't be cheap, Erik!)

See ya!

June 29.2005

Good news everyone! Finally something is happening in the B.O.P-world, at least live-wise. As we reported earlier, Kris has been working on an acoustic project and on Saturday, July 2nd, he will be showcasing his material at 'Musikktorvet'-music store in Skien, Norway. He will perform between 12-2pm, so make sure to drop by if you are in the neighbourhood. It will be an all acoustic set consisting of songs from his demo: '...and so I walked into the morning...'. Featured on the demo are a few rearranged birds of prey songs plus some new songs exclusive to this project. We have one copy of the demo to give away and all you need to do is send us an e-mail telling us why you should get it. Simple, huh?

And more good news! On Sept 24, birds of prey has been confirmed as support act for German metal-band Masterplan at Rjukan. Masterplan consists of a couple of ex-members of the 'pumpkin-metalers' Helloween (of 'Dr. Stein'-fame in the late 80's, if you remember?) and features the vocal talent of Rjukan-born Jorn Lande. This will be a hard rocking evening for sure and our boys will have to bring their a-game to get the all-metal crowd in the mood. Should be interesting... Ticket info can be found at Rjukan Artistforening's website.

Finally a couple of pictures have been added to the Pictures page. That's all for now folks, rock hard!

May 5.2005

Just a quick little update. Lyrics for three songs have been added so check out the 'Lyrics' page. Furthermore, more new stuff has been written and it's great! What'd you expect? Lyrics will be added, so watch this space...

Kris is working on a solo acoustic project to see if he can get a leg on the inside somewhere, but have no fear, he will still be rocking it out with the boys! If not, a certain bass player (6'5") will kick his bony ass!

That's all for now, keep on rockin'!

April 27.2005

Hello people, so sorry for the complete silence since christmas, but we've been experiencing computer problems. Everything has been fixed so it won't ever go this long without an update again! Not too much has happened since last time except for the usual songwriting and rehearsing. New lyrics will be added soon!

Y'all take care now;-)

December 23.2004

Big thanks to everyone who voted for us at the by:larm-site! We didn't get any of the three places, but we finished in the top third of the results so it was a good effort. And don't worry, we'll live to fight another day!

birds of prey would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy and rocking new year, let's all make it a good and loud one!!

November 4.2004

Hi there:-) birds of prey needs your help folks! Please go to the by:larm-website to cast your vote to make b.o.p one of the additional bands to be picked for by:larm live in Stavanger, Norway in February next year. Follow this link and click on 'stem' next to our name. Hopefully...

October 25.2004

Lyrics for two more songs have been added to the 'Lyrics' page. Enjoy!

October 20.2004

Hello there rocking friends, here's another short update from the fast and furious world of birds of prey! Er, well, you know what I mean... We're happy to report that the lack of attention from record companies and potential gig venues hasn't haltered the creativity and guts within the band and this update includes lyrics to two brand new songs that have been written recently. More  new songs will be added shortly so the 'Lyrics' page is the place to visit! Rock'n'Roll makes life worth living!

October 2.2004

Sorry about the lack of updates lately, the reason for this being that there, sadly, hasn't been much to update on. The boys are currently trying hard to line up some live dates, but this is obviously easier said than done. They have help from several others and hopefully there will be results of the hard work being laid down. If you are interested in signing birds of prey for live work, or know someone who might be, please send an e-mail to birdsofprey@2goodmusic.com.

Apart from the frustration of not getting any work, new songs are being written and rehearsed and the boys are keeping their passion going. So keep on rockin' hard and hopefully we'll see you on the road in the not too distant future!

August 2.2004

As promised earlier we have uploaded some of the pictures taken at the promo-shoot in July, plus some more pictures from 'The Barn'. Check out Paddy's new Yamaha-kit, pretty flash, eh?

Now, as for the 'fast' people at Rjukan Rockfestival, there has been no updates on their site since June 19(!), so I guess there aren't gonna be any pictures of birds of prey's show at this year's festival. It's a shame but not really that surprising all things considered. Thanks for nuthin'!

July 21.2004

birds of prey have been working hard on new material over the last few weeks, sweating it out at 'The Barn'. This means that we now have added lyrics for 2 brand new songs, 'Keep on Lovin' and 'The Second Coming', over at the 'Lyrics' page. The boys have also taken time to do a photo shoot for some new promo-pics with their regular photographer Jan Bakkhus. One of them is on the main page and more will be added shortly, plus more pics from rehearsals at 'The Barn'.

June 29.2004

Not too much happening at the moment, sorry, but here's an update with a link to some pictures from Rjukan Rockfestival. Alas, shock horror, no b.o.p-pics yet! I don't know what's up with the guys at the official site but they took a month(!!!) to post any pics whatsoever, so late fall perhaps? Anyway, there are some cool pictures there and if you look closely you'll see a certain bass-player being a fan on a couple of them...

birds of prey wishes everyone a good summer!

May 31.2004

Lyrics for 'Carry me home' has been added to the 'Lyrics' page.

May 30.2004

So another Rjukan Rockfestival has come and gone, and it was a great musical triumph! Now, birds of prey were originally scheduled to perform on the free for all outdoor-stage on Saturday, but due to snow(!!!) this part of the festival was moved indoors. As I'm sure you can appreciate, putting on a rock'n'roll show indoors at noon when nobody actually knows it's happening is hardly the recipe for attracting huge crowds, and to be frank it didn't. Nevertheless our boys gave a great performance to the die-hard followers (and the sound-guys) and once again proved their dedication and passion for live performance. It was a rockin' set featuring both older fave's and as always some brand new stuff. Two songs made their debut in front of an audience; 'Carry me home' and 'Come alive'. You can find lyrics for the latter at the 'Lyrics' page, and 'Carry me home' will be added shortly. The show was ended by an inspired>, loud and raucous version of 'Murder inc', and the sparse crowd that caught the show was not sorry for spending an hour with birds of prey !

As for the rest of Saturday's line-up, highlights were: Split Image, girl-band with power, melody and tons of stage presence; Asstronaut, young punks with a lot of energy; Los Plantronics, tequila, rock'n'roll, surf, mariachi...; and of course Gluecifer, I dare you to find a tighter live-unit anywhere!

birds of prey will now focus their attention on getting live gigs and rehearsing new material at their brand new, kinda, rehearsal digs; 'The Barn'. A picture of Kris at the new place has been added to the 'Pictures' page

May 13.2004

Kris' showcase at 'The Original Songwriters' was this past Monday and he didn't let the side down, as expected! Romping through 'The Great Escape' and 'The Bridge' in true b.o.p fashion he finally got to show London his best side! Backed by the house-band, Kris' performance was every bit as good as one could hope for. Now where were you, A&R-guys? Wake up before it is too late!

May 3.2004

Not much happening these days, a bit of a calm before the storm with Kris' showcase and the appearance at Rjukan Rockfestival coming up. Patrik And Tor Olav are also scheduled to do an interview with the local newspaper at Rjukan ahead of the festival. Kris has informed us that he's a bit frustrated with London and the music biz in general having spent two and a half months nagging and mailing and appearing in person without any real response from anyone that matters. So if you see a long haired, bearded fellow, sitting alone in 'Punch and Judy's' muttering curses into his pint of John Smith's, please stop by and say hello-it should cheer him up!

There has been yet another slight rewrite of 'Break of Day'(what, again?). So here is a challenge: See if you can spot the change, send us an e-mail with the answer and you could win both, yes indeed, both birds of prey's demos! The winner will obviously be the first one with the correct answer.

Apr 22.2004

Kris wil be playing live in London! On May 10 Kris will be playing two birds of prey songs live at the West One Four club in London. It's a part of a concept called 'The Original Songwriters', a weekly event showcasing new talent. Kris will perform together with the house band and he will no doubt rock the house! So if you are in London go to West One Four,3 North End Crescent in West Kensington. You can check out their website here:www.showcaselondon.co.uk

Mar 24.2004

Please help birds of prey getting airplay on Virgin Radio! Click on this link to go to Virgin Radio online. Fill out the form and request 'The Bridge' by birds of prey, and hopefully if enough people request it they can't help but play it! Together we're strong!

Mar 14.2004

Finally the lyrics for that oldie but goodie 'Break of day' has been added to the 'Lyrics' page. Just as well as it has been slightly rewritten (surprise!) recently. Apart from that it's menacingly quiet in the b.o.p-world.

Mar 5.2004

Lyrics for 'Back into the world' & 'Dog in the rain' have been added to the 'Lyrics' page.

Mar 3.2004

Hello rockers! Sorry 'bout the lack of updates recently, but here we are again. Since last time, young mr Berg has once again left the shores of wintery Norway for the hustle and bustle of London, attempting to break the birds in the 'real' world. All he's got to show for his efforts so far is a rejection from Sony Uk. It reads as follows: 'Dear Sir/Madam, Thankyou for sending your demo to Sony Music, which was listened to with interest. Unfortunealely it does not suit our requirements at the current time. Once again thanks for your interest in Sony Music and good luck with future recordings.' I guess being British doesn't necessarily mean you know how to spell, does it? Oh well, they probably care more about music than spelling, or so one would hope!

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of listening to 'Welcome to the Show' yet, that'll be most of you, log on to www.hitquarters.com/birdsofprey  This site features three of the songs from the demo in Real Audio format. They're only in streaming audio, no downloads I'm afraid, but at least they're the mastered versions and that's not too bad.

The new lyrics promised last month will hopefully appear soon, but don't hold your breaths! Nothing can be taken for granted in the wonderful world of birds of prey!

Feb 3.2004

There's gonna be some rockin'... Phew, did you ever miss a corker of a show this past Friday! birds of prey were on their absolute best form and delivered a rock'n'roll onslaught on a well responding if somewhat too small a crowd. Following a brilliant acoustic set by singer/guitarist Anette Fagerberg, the boys launched into a set stripped of any blues or soul references. It was pure rock'n'roll b.o.p-style all the way. The set included all the songs from both demos (except 'Evermore') plus a careful selection of their best work. Included were also a couple of new songs, 'Dog in the Rain' and 'The Nightwatchman', both finished just the night before the gig. The latter not really being new, but the boys had never played it before now. Lyrics for these songs will be available soon. Favorites such as 'Hieronymus' Brush', 'How Come', 'Time is at hand' and 'The Great Escape', were delivered with the utmost precision and loads of energy. The crowd did a great job singing along to the anthemic chorus of 'The Bridge' before the boys steamed into their usual finale ; 'Break of Day'. It concluded a 1 hour show few who were there will forget in a hurry! It sure was a tough act for Notodden Blues Band to follow... To see a picture taken at the show click here. We apologize for the somewhat... er... less than desired quality, but this is not one of ours so it'll have to make do.

Jan 10.2004

Good news for the new year: -'Welcome to the Show!' has been reviewed at rockeweb.com, and obviously they liked it! What did you expect? To read the review and check out the other good stuff on the site click here (it's in Norwegian). Secondly the band has been confirmed as support act for Norwegian blues veterans Notodden Blues Band at their Rjukan gig on the 30th this month. birds of prey will go on after local girl Annette Fagerberg has done an acoustic set. It promises to be brilliant so check Rjukan Rockforum's site for ticket info etc. And to top it off b.o.p has been recalled to Rjukan Rockfestival in May for more rockin' and rollin'! It looks like it's gonna be a good year...

Dec 31.2003

birds of prey would like to wish everybody a happy and prosperous new year! See you in 2004!

Dec 8.2003

Kris is back from his little London-excursion, where he pestered local record companies with the new demo. So far this has resulted in a very polite and encouraging rejection from db records. A & R Manager Francisco Garcia, wishes the band the best of luck in finding the right home for their creative talents. That's nice... birds of prey  are not discouraged and goes on without hesitation! The plan is for Kris to return to London in the new year, possibly late January-early February. A minor cash-flow problem has to be solved first...

Since our last update Paddy (daddy) has played a gig at Rjukan with his side-project Baron Blå. Pictures of this can be seen here.

Nov 14.2003

A little drummer boy is born! Yeah, that's right, young Patrik has just become a father! On the 11th this month Patrik's girlfriend gave birth to their first son and we extend our warmest congratulations to the happy parents.

Work on the design of the packaging for the new demo has been finished. It includes some amazing new artwork and can be seen on the Pictures page. Kris is currently in London pushing the demo on unsuspecting British record companies. Best of luck to you!

Oct 6.2003

New Mp3 added! 'The Bridge' is now downloadable from the 'Mp3' page, and this time it's in 128kbps quality to give you a better idea of the song. Due to lack of server space the rest of the new demo won't be added until later. There's also a chance that the old ones will be removed or maybe the new ones will be here for just a limited time. If you have any thoughts on this, please drop us a line. Work on the new demo is nearing it's completion and packaging and everything will be ready at the end of this month, probably... This will mean another round with record companies everywhere, more rejections no doubt, but hopefully someone will spot the greatness!

Sept 13.2003

birds of prey are fresh out of the studio, having recorded 4 more songs. It was once again the task of Bjørn Bergersen at Panser studio to lead the boys through wilderness and come up with another excellent piece of recorded music! The tracks are as follows: 'Evermore', 'Let me In', The Bridge', and 'The Great Escape'. The addition of recent live favorite 'The Great Escape' was a late, but a good one. According to the band, this particular song had never been tighter and better than the recorded version; capturing the sheer energy and spirit of the song! Mp3's of the new songs will be added shortly and pictures from the sessions can now be found on the 'Pictures' page.

On a sadder note the band would like to express their sorrow after the demise of two of the great voices of music this last week; Warren Zevon and Johnny Cash. May the gods give you what you truly deserve!

Aug 24.2003

The boys are currently fine-tuning their material before going into the studio. This has lead to a slight rewrite, and change of title, of the song known as 'Like a River'. The song is now called 'Evermore', and according to informed sources won't be renamed again. Well, we'll believe that when we see it! Anyhow, the lyrics can as always be found on the 'Lyrics' page.

Aug 02.2003

After a rather inactive summer, the boys will once again head into Panser studio to record more songs. The dates set are sept.6 & 7. Confirmed tracks for this session are 'Let me in', 'Like a River' and 'The Bridge'. The band is also thinking about maybe remixing a couple of the old tracks. The idea is to make a product containing of six songs with new packaging and hopefully more success in gaining attention of record companies. The tracks will be mastered> to give them more of an edge this time around. The lyrics for 'Like a River' can be found on the 'Lyrics' page.

May 19.2003

More pictures from the Christmas gig added to the 'Pictures' page!

May 12.2003

We have just been able to get our hands on some rockin' pictures from birds of prey's Christmas gig at Rjukan last year, when they opened for Midnight Choir. Thanks to Patrik's cousin we're able to give you a slight taste of the energy generated that night. Please go to the 'Pictures' page!

Apr.24.2003

Got another rejection today, this time from Waterfall Records. Same as usual, wishing the band the best of luck in the future. Thank you, Mr Lewis!

Apr.21.2003

birds of prey's show at the easter party at Fjellvang was a great success! The band overcame technical difficulties to produce a 3-hour show that none of the attending  will forget in a hurry. Rocking their way through all of their greatest songs they didn't let problems such as repeated string breaking lay a damper on their performance. All three band members were on great form, even though bassplayer T.O. Lien's performance was a little less 'physical' than usual due to an injured leg. Musically though, there wasn't much to criticize; power and harmony in joyful co-existence! Their two sets consisted of songs from all periods of the bands history plus a few of their favorite covers, such as Springsteen's 'Murder Inc' and Dylan's 'Seven Days'. Two brand new songs were also played for the first time to a very receptive audience. You can find the lyrics to these songs, 'The Great Escape' and 'The Bridge' on the 'Lyrics' page. The band would like to thank everyone who participated in making this a memorable evening, the organizers, the party-goers and especially mr Magnar Lauluten for kindly lending the band his amplifier when Kris' Marshall decided it was time to stop functioning! Please see the 'Pictures' page for photos of the event.

Apr.1.2003

Universal Music has gracefully turned the band down, but encourages them to send in more material in the future.

Soon you will have access to the birds of prey demo in higher quality mp3! A new Norwegian website, mp3.no, is currently under construction and b.o.p's demo will be available in 192kbps quality! There will also be contributions from a load of other unsigned bands so it will be well worth checking out. We'll keep you updated and will link to it as soon as it's up and running.

Mar.19.2003

Another 'thanks, but no thanks' letter today. This time from BMG Norway. Well, if at first you don't succeed...

Mar.13.2003

birds of prey have just been turned down by Warner Music! Though they said the demo was 'nice', they weren't looking for new acts at the moment and wished the band the best of luck in the future.

On a more  positive note, birds of prey will perform live on April 19 at the Easter party at Fjellvang, Tessungdalen, Norway. It promises to be one heck of a party so be there or be square!

Feb.2003

The demo is being distributed to record companies and radio stations alike to spread the gospel according to b.o.p . At the same time www.2goodmusic is launched; the band's official website.

Dec 28.2002

After finishing artwork and packaging of the demo, birds of prey support Norwegian alt.country stars Midnight Choir at a highly successful show at Rjukan, Norway. The band receives rave reviews for their performance! The show was recorded, so watch this space...

Oct 20.2002

birds of prey record a three track demo including the songs: 'Time is at hand', 'Missin' you' & 'Deep like the rivers'. The demo is recorded at Panser studio, with the aid of engineer Bjørn Bergersen. The songs are recorded, mixed and produced in one 10-hour session. Everyone is happy!
